Pictures add a lot to any on-line collection program. WatchWare is no different. However, you are given two choices now with WatchWare Watch Collector for picture storage. You can either store the pictures within the database table file or just store a link to the pictures. You make this choice (and it is not a good idea to mix the methods, though you could) by selecting <Utilities><Select Picture Storage Method>. You should close any input form that is open before selecting your choice.

After clicking the menu command, the selection form opens. It provides some tips on the benefits and drawbacks for each picture storage method.

You will have to make the decision on which storage method to use. For ease of use and future usability for the pictures, Linked is the way to go.
You are given the capability for three pictures for pocket watches and wristwatches. You are given the capability for two pictures with movements since they don't have a case. The three choices are Dial, Movement, and Case since these are the three major areas of interest for any watch.

To insert a picture, you just click the command button of the type of picture you want to add. The tab control will automatically move to the correct picture tab depending on the button selected. If a picture has not been previously entered, a dialog box will open allowing you to select the location of the picture. If you are using linked pictures, you should create a separate subdirectory for watch pictures. A suggestion would be c:\watchware\pictures. Put all your watch pictures in the same subdirectory and name them so you can uniquely identify them (such as using watch serial numbers). The <X> command button found next to the picture command buttons will delete the corresponding pictures. NOTE: you will not be asked to confirm the deletion so make sure you do want to delete the picture before clicking on the <X>.
