2/1/03 Error on watch input forms. Cannot add pictures. Download fix to eliminate problem. Another problem is when printing out report of "Watches with Pictures". If you don't add dial pictures of all watches, the watches without pictures will print with the picture of the last watch that had a picture linked. This fix takes care of that problem as long as you place the included picture file "dot.jpg" in your "c:\windows" directory. You can use any picture named dot.jpg as long as you place it in the windows directory.

5/20/01 Error when marking a watch sold. This error only occurs if you have entered a text value in the 'Adj Positions' field instead of a number and then mark the watch 'SOLD'. The fix will change the field in the 'SOLD' record from numeric to text to eliminate this error.

1. Revised 'Find Quote' and 'Find Invoice' forms to provide quicker and easier searches.
Now you can sort on any available column, use the 'Find' feature, or use the one click
'Filter by Selection' feature.
2. Changed customer entry on 'Invoice' and 'Repair Quote' to allow direct entry of new
customer names without having to use the dropdown list first. (Note: it is possible to end
up with duplicate customer names if you don't check the dropdown list first for existing
customer names.)
3. Added automatic entry of price from 'Repair Price List' on both 'Repair Quote' and
'Invoice'. Select from the dropdown and both repair item name and repair cost
automatically fill in. These can both be changed on the 'Repair Quote' and 'Invoice'
without changing the actual 'Repair Price List' Provides quicker and more accurate data
input.
4. Added automatic filling of 'Ship To' information when creating an 'Invoice' from within
a 'Repair Quote'.
5. Fixed 'Date' field on 'Repair Quote' reports.
6. Fixed 'Order Date' field so it automatically fills in when an invoice is created from
within a 'Repair Quote'.

New Features
1. Set number of days worth of invoices and quotes to be current. Past the number of days
the invoices and or quotes will be archived. Change the days to increase the number of
days worth of invoices or quotes to view archived records.
2. Print a customer mailing label from within an invoice or from the customer list. Format
is a monarch envelope which also works with the USPS Priority Mail labels free from the
post office.
3. Change "Find Invoice" and "Find Quote" to spreadsheet format with
the ability to set the number of days worth of current records to increase or decrease the
number of records to search through.
4. Report printouts list of Invoices and Quotes is also filtered for the set number of
days for current records.
5. Fix error in "Clear Invoices" form so invoice total shows correct. (will not
be correct for existing invoices unless they are edited)

Utilities
Data Connect - this utility allows you to disconnect and re-connect any data table in your WatchWare Program. If you want to keep track of separate collections or have more than one WatchWare program and want to use the same data table for both programs (such as owner information). This utility is also useful for owners of earlier versions of WatchWare programs who were required to install the program to the default subdirectory on the C: drive. Now you can move your data tables to any location and re-connect them to your program file.

Tips
| Ver 3: If you have Microsoft Office 2000 loaded on your computer, you may have a problem getting a WatchWare program installed. The work around is to temporarily rename the "c:\program files\Microsoft Office" subdirectory to something like "c:\program files\renamed Microsoft Office". Then install the WatchWare program. After testing the WatchWare program to insure it opens correctly, rename the Office 2000 subdirectory back to its original name. (Note: if you rename the subdirectory to "c:\program files\Microsoft Office renamed" it may not work. You must put some text in front of the "Microsoft Office" in order for this method to work. |
| Ver 3: If you are using Windows 2000 you may get an error that says the install was not completely successful. The shortcut is not created. You can create your own shortcut to open the program file. You can try to see if it will work by using <START><RUN> and typing in |
"C:\watchware\office\MSACCESS.EXE" /runtime "c:\watchware\watchware.mde"
Be sure to include the quotes and substitute the correct directory information for the two files. The file watchware.mde is for WatchWare Ver 3.
If you receive an error that the file "system.mdw" cannot be found, copy the file from c:\watchware\repairshop to c:/watchware/office".
Note: during installation, you may get two errors when the setup tries to install two files that may be in use. Select "Ignore" to continue past the files.
| Grading Watch Condition: If you are adding a pocket watch to WatchWare Watch Collector, you can double click on the 'Condition' field to open up a pop-up form that will explain all the different condition grades in detail. This will help you make the correct choice rather than the typical overly optimistic one. |
